Having spent many years in the automotive industry, I found it to be a challenging field regardless of the specific area of work. Eventually, I found myself in the extended warranty sector, which had its own set of advantages and disadvantages. One positive aspect was the opportunity to enhance my understanding of contract language. However, interacting with distressed individuals facing car troubles became emotionally draining, especially when faced with such situations repeatedly throughout the day. While I served as a claims adjuster and supervisor for over two decades, I realized that the role did not bring me happiness. Consequently, after a considerable period, I made the decision to pursue a different path.
My transition to junk removal was motivated by several factors:
Minimal initial investment required
My existing communication skills with customers made the transition smoother
The ability to independently start and manage the business
Despite my initial reluctance towards people, I wanted to assist others
Although I wish I had made the switch sooner, venturing into junk removal has been a rewarding experience. The supportive community within the junk removal industry, where small business owners often collaborate and assist each other, has been invaluable. Through trial and error, I have gained valuable insights and knowledge, and I look forward to sharing my journey and lessons learned in my upcoming posts.
